Dhaka, July 30 (V7N) — Bangladesh ruling party Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced on Monday that the 14-party alliance has resolved to ban Jamaat-Shibir, citing concerns over a conspiracy involving BNP-Jamaat to destabilize the country through anarchy.

Quader made the statement following a meeting at Gonobhaban, where he emphasized that the ban aims to eliminate what he described as "anti-national evil forces." Rashed Khan Menon, president of Workers Party, Bangladesh, confirmed that the government will swiftly act on the decision.

Despite Jamaat-Shibir's party registration being previously revoked, the ban would prevent adherents of Jamaat e Islami and its student wing, Islami Chhatra Shibir, from conducting political activities, including press conferences. Syed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari, chairman of Bangladesh Tarikat Federation, supported the ban, stating it would restrict the group's ability to organize or publicly address issues.
