Dhaka, July 31 — In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced key changes in its top leadership. According to an official order issued on Wednesday, Detective Police (DB) Chief and DMP Additional Commissioner Harun Or Rashid has been transferred to the position of Additional Commissioner (Crime) within the DMP.

Taking over the role of DB Chief will be Md. Ashrafuzzaman, who previously served as the DMP's Additional Commissioner (Logistics, Finance, and Procurement). This change reflects the DMP's ongoing efforts to optimize its leadership and enhance the efficiency of its various departments.

In another notable move, Mahid Uddin, the former Additional Commissioner (Crime), has been reassigned as Additional Commissioner (Logistics, Finance, and Procurement), a position vacated by MD. Ashrafuzzaman.

The order, signed by DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, emphasizes the immediate implementation of these changes, signaling a swift transition to the new leadership structure. The reshuffle is seen as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the DMP's operational capabilities and improve public safety management across the capital.

The transfer and appointments come at a time when the DMP is actively working on various fronts to maintain law and order in Dhaka. The new assignments are expected to bring fresh perspectives and bolster the department's efforts in crime prevention, investigation, and overall administrative efficiency.
