Dhaka, August 3- Former Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman has highlighted the political dimensions of the ongoing student movement and called for a resolution through dialogue. Speaking at a rally organized by the Blue Team of teachers in front of Aparajeya Bangla, Professor Akhtaruzzaman emphasized the need for political dialogue to address the crisis that has emerged from the student protests.

Professor Akhtaruzzaman expressed gratitude to the students for their role in uniting various societal groups to fight for their rights. He described the current situation as a national crisis, not merely an academic one, attributing it to political stagnation. He stressed that resolving the crisis requires national unity and dialogue, rather than violence, and urged for the reopening of educational institutions.

Professor Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, President of the Dhaka University Teachers' Association, echoed the call for justice and accountability. He highlighted the need for a fair trial for those responsible for the violence and urged the university authorities and government to ensure a safe and conducive educational environment.

In response to the recent unrest, the Blue Team of Dhaka University teachers presented a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor, outlining several demands. The memorandum called for immediate action against those responsible for the violence, the implementation of policies to ensure a fair learning environment, and the protection of students and staff on campus.

The teachers' rally concluded with a call for the resumption of academic activities at Dhaka University and a return to normalcy on campus.
