Dhaka, August 6 - In a video message released on Tuesday, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun addressed the nation, emphasizing the need for cooperation and security amidst the ongoing unrest. He acknowledged the challenging situation faced by the Bangladesh Police and extended condolences to the families of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The IGP began by expressing his sorrow for the fallen police officers, offering prayers for their souls and assuring that the government will provide medical care for all injured officers. He stressed the importance of protecting law enforcement personnel and requested political leaders and anti-discrimination student movement leaders to denounce any attacks on police personnel and infrastructure.

Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun highlighted the cooperation between the army and police in maintaining law and order, emphasizing that efforts are being made to address the grievances and demands raised by police officers. He urged all officers to prioritize their safety while performing their duties and expressed optimism that the situation would stabilize soon with the collective effort of all parties involved.
