Dhaka, August 8 — Additional Attorney General SM Munir has submitted his resignation to the Attorney General's Office, citing personal reasons. The resignation letter, addressed to the President, was submitted on Thursday.

This resignation follows a series of high-profile resignations from the Attorney General's Office. On Wednesday, Attorney General AM Amin Uddin resigned, and on Tuesday, Additional Attorney General Sheikh Mohammad Morshed also submitted his resignation.

SM Munir, a senior lawyer and former secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association, was appointed as Additional Attorney General on September 1, 2020.

Since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government on August 5, many officials appointed to key positions during her tenure have been either removed from their duties or have chosen to resign voluntarily.
