Dhaka, Sept 7 (V7N): Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has called on Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to carry out their duties with the utmost professionalism, emphasizing the importance of border security and anti-smuggling efforts in light of recent incidents of border killings.
Speaking to senior BGB officials at the Border Conference Center in Pilkhana, Dhaka, he said, "The security of the border and anti-smuggling operations are the primary responsibilities of the BGB. Ensure that you do not neglect your duties at the border."
The adviser also delivered a strong message against corruption, stating that it will not be tolerated under any circumstances. "Strict punitive measures will be taken against those involved in bribery and corruption. They will face dismissal if necessary," he warned.
Lt Gen Chowdhury further emphasized that the BGB must always operate in accordance with the law.
