The front lines of the battle between insurgents and the government forces in Myanmar have moved out of the border region. There is intense fighting in some of the villages surrounding Maungdaw, the capital of Rakhine State, Myanmar.

For the last five days, border dwellers of Teknaf Upazila, Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh, have been observing black smoke in the Myanmar sky. Most often, when neighbors hear large explosions throughout the day, they witness helicopters flying in a quick circle in the sky.

The Teknaf land port's import-export border commerce with Rakhine State has been blocked as a result of this war. There are no ships or cargo trawlers from Sittwe Port in Rakhine that bring imported products to Teknaf.

The Customs Superintendent of the Land Port Customs Department, BM Abdullah Al Masum, stated: "The daily revenue is not more than 3 crore due to the closure of border trade."
