Dhaka, Mar 11 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced another increase in gold prices for the second consecutive day. According to a notification issued Wednesday morning, the price of good quality 22-carat gold (11.664 grams) has risen by over Tk 2,000 per bhori, reaching Tk 2,70,430. The new rates took effect from 10 am.

Under the revised pricing:

  • 21-carat gold – Tk 2,58,124 per bhori

  • 18-carat gold – Tk 2,21,266 per bhori

  • Traditional gold – Tk 1,80,617 per bhori

BAJUS attributed the increase to a rise in the price of acidic gold in the local market and said the new rates reflect the overall market situation.

Silver prices have also climbed. The price of a 22-carat bhori of silver increased by Tk 175, reaching Tk 6,707. Other silver rates are:

  • 21-carat silver – Tk 6,415 per bhori

  • 18-carat silver – Tk 5,482 per bhori

  • Traditional silver – Tk 4,082 per bhori

The latest price hike comes as global precious metal markets continue to fluctuate, affecting domestic rates in Bangladesh.
