Dhaka, Mar 25 (V7N) – The price of gold in the domestic market has dropped significantly once again, with the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announcing a major price cut effective from 10:00 am on Wednesday.
According to the new rates, the price of 22-carat gold—considered the best quality—has been reduced by Tk 5,482 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new price down to Tk 2,41,445 per bhori.
Updated Gold Prices
- 22-carat gold: Tk 2,41,445 per bhori
- 21-carat gold: Tk 2,30,481 per bhori
- 18-carat gold: Tk 1,97,530 per bhori
- Traditional gold: Tk 1,60,905 per bhori (down by Tk 5,132)
This latest adjustment comes just a week after gold prices were reduced in two phases on March 19, when the price of high-quality gold bars was cut by Tk 15,338.
Silver Prices Unchanged
Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged in the domestic market. The current rates are:
- 22-carat silver: Tk 5,365 per bhori
- 21-carat silver: Tk 5,132 per bhori
- 18-carat silver: Tk 4,432 per bhori
- Traditional silver: Tk 3,324 per bhori
BAJUS stated that the new gold prices have been adjusted in line with the latest trends in the local and international markets.
