Dhaka, Jul 02 (V7N) — Global oil prices continued to decline on Thursday following reports that indirect technical talks between the United States and Iran in Doha, Qatar, had yielded positive and constructive results.

According to Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera, the decline was evident at the opening of international trading on Thursday.

The price of Brent crude, the global benchmark, fell 73 cents, or 1.02 percent, to $70.84 per barrel. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude in the United States dropped 83 cents, or 1.12 percent, to $67.75 per barrel.

The downward trend follows losses in the previous trading session, when both benchmark crude prices fell by more than 1 percent, reaching their lowest levels in the past four months.

Market analysts said optimism surrounding the U.S.-Iran discussions has eased concerns over potential disruptions to global oil supplies, contributing to the continued decline in crude prices.
