"Key development initiatives are nuclear power plants, LNG terminals, deep-sea ports, 100 Special Economic Zones, Hi-Tech parks, tourism parks and the building of a railway network."
To improve bilateral trade between the two nations, the Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce (CHCC) and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI), the nation's premier trade organisation, will collaborate.
The FBCCI will offer all forms of assistance to Canadians who wish to make investments in Bangladesh.
According to a press release released here on Friday, January 12, FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam stated this at a networking event with the CHCC on Thursday night (January 11, 2024) at Hotel Sheraton in the capital.
In honour of the visiting Canadian Hindu Chamber delegation, FBCCI organised a networking event. Prior to the networking event, businessmen and entrepreneurs from Canada and Bangladesh also took part in a business-to-business (B2B) meeting.
The President of the FBCCI urged the Canadian Hindu Business Community to make investments in Bangladesh during his speech.
He stated that in order to pull in both domestic and foreign investors, the government of Bangladesh has implemented a pro-investment policy that includes tax breaks, duty advantages, access to working capital, one-stop services, and many other benefits.
He went on, "Key development initiatives are nuclear power plants, LNG terminals, deep-sea ports, 100 Special Economic Zones, Hi-Tech parks, tourism parks and the building of a railway network."
"This year marks the 52 years of bilateral relations between Canada and Bangladesh," stated Mahbubul Alam. Over the years, Canada has emerged as Bangladesh's principal development partner. The two countries also have a number of multilateral goals in common, such as participation in the Commonwealth and the United Nations, trade liberalisation in the WTO, and support for international peacekeeping."
He extended an invitation to businesspeople in Canada to invest in Bangladesh's tourism industry, high-tech RMG, logistics, renewable energy, aviation and shipping, and special economic zones.
The president of the FBCCI stated that there is a great deal of room to grow Bangladesh's exports to Canada, including a wide range of commodities made of jute and leather, footwear, pharmaceuticals, plastic furniture, home textiles, ceramics, light engineering, and electronics, among other things.
Bangladesh's economy has advanced significantly under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's inspiring leadership. He said that Bangladesh is currently regarded as one of South and Southeast Asia's top locations for business and investment.
Nareshkumar Narayanbhai Chavda, the President of CHCC, commended Bangladesh's recent progress.
He stated that over the years, Bangladesh and Canada have had a great business relationship and that there are a lot of promising business prospects between the two countries. Similar to FBCCI in Bangladesh, CHCC has a sizable Canadian membership. This is a chance for the FBCCI and CHCC to improve trade between the two nations."
He extended an invitation to the corporate leaders of the FBCCI to visit Canada.
FBCCI senior vice-president Md. Amin Helaly, vice-presidents Md. Khairul Huda Chopol, Mohammad Anwar Sadat Sarker, Dr. Joshoda Jibon Deb Nath, Md. Munir Hossain, FBCCI Directors, and business luminaries were present, among others, at the occasion.
