On March 9, 2024, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) will hold elections for the 2024–2026 period.

First panel introduction meeting, held on Thursday at a local hotel, officially revealed Sammilito Parishad's candidates for the next BGMEA elections.

With the theme "Sammilito Parishad for Building Sustainable Garment Industry," Sammilito Parishad is running in the BGMEA election.

A news release stated that attendees included clothing industry owners from the Chattogram and Dhaka areas.

Tipu Munshi, a member of parliament, a former commerce minister, and the president of Sammilito Parishad, chaired the panel introduction program.

The panelists of Sammilito Parishad, including S. M. Mannan Kochi, the Chairman of Seha Design (BD) Ltd. and Senior Vice President of BGMEA, were introduced at the event by Md. Atiqul Islam, General Secretary of Sammilito Parishad and Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).

In addition to Md. Atiqul Islam, General Secretary of Sammilito Parishad and Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Former President of BGMEA and Chief Election Coordinator of Sammilito Parishad for the BGMEA Election 2024–2026, Industries and Trade Affairs Secretary of the Awami League, and Former Presidents of BGMEA Abdus Salam Murshedy, Parliament member, and S.M. Fazlul Hoque and other industry leaders spoke on the occasion.

Tipu Munshi, Parliament member, former Commerce Minister, and President of Sammilito Parishad, were also present. 

The leaders emphasized Sammilito Parishad's illustrious past, significant contributions, accomplishments, and promising future.

They highlighted S. M. Mannan's (Kochi) leadership abilities and the important contributions he made to the growth of the ready-made garment sector.

The leaders also emphasized the significant contributions that the other Sammilito Parishad panel candidates made to the growth of the RMG sector.

They stated that important government policy choices for the growth of the RMG business were taken when Sammilito Parishad chaired BGMEA Boards.

Through interaction with the highest level of government, the Presidents and previous Presidents were able to effectively address the issues facing the sector during their terms in office.

They declared their unwavering conviction that Sammilito Parishad will carry on the successful heritage if elected.

S. M. Mannan (Kochi) stated: "To ensure the sustained growth of the garment sector, we have assembled a panel of young and experienced executives. We will all cooperate if we win the election."

The leaders of BGMEA encouraged attendees to cast their ballots in the next BGMEA election in order to choose the whole Sammilito Parishad panel.
