Dhaka, Oct 25 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert forecasting rain or thundershowers with gusty winds ranging from 45 to 60 km/h across various regions, including Rajshahi, Pabna, Faridpur, Dhaka, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, and Cox's Bazar. River ports in these areas are advised to display the warning signal number one from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday.

The meteorological department also provided a 72-hour forecast stating that Cyclone ‘Dana,’ which crossed the North Orissa coast on Friday afternoon, is now located over northern Orissa and nearby regions. The cyclone is expected to weaken as it continues west-northwestward. Due to its influence, gusty winds may affect the North Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh's coastal areas, and seaports, while temperatures across the country may rise slightly both during the day and at night.

Forecast for the Next 72 Hours
- Saturday : Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds may occur in parts of Khulna and Rajshahi divisions and in scattered areas of Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions. Day and night temperatures are expected to rise slightly.
- Sunday : Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds are expected in parts of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Dry weather is likely to prevail in other parts of the country.
