Dhaka, Nov 28 (V7N)- The northernmost district of Bangladesh, Panchagarh, experienced a significant drop in temperature, marking the arrival of winter. The Tentulia Meteorological Observatory recorded a temperature of 12.2 degrees Celsius at 6 am on Thursday (November 28), making it the lowest temperature of the season so far.

Russell Shah, officer-in-charge of the first-class Tentulia Meteorological Observatory, confirmed the data, stating that the district's temperature has been consistently low, dipping below 13 degrees for the past three days. "The temperature is expected to drop further as the day progresses," he added.

Residents of Panchagarh reported a biting cold from early morning, despite the sun breaking through the fog. The chilly conditions are particularly challenging for stone workers, daily wage laborers, tea workers, and others who must brave the cold to continue their work.

Local farmers noted the tangible signs of winter. “When we go to pick vegetables like cauliflower, coriander leaves, and gourds in the morning, the icy dew on the leaves makes our hands numb," one farmer shared.

The drop in temperature signals the beginning of winter in northern Bangladesh, with rural areas experiencing the effects more acutely. The arrival of the cold season is expected to influence agricultural activities and daily life in the region.

With temperatures expected to decrease further, residents are bracing for colder days ahead.
