After being delayed for 12 hours due to thick fog covering the river path, ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route have resumed this morning.
As the fog gradually began to lift around 9:15 am, ferry operations on the route resumed, according to Mahiuddin Russell, assistant general manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha point.

According to locals, about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, ferry services were halted because of poor visibility.

On both banks of the river, more than three thousand cars were trapped.

Three ferries—Shah Paran, Banalata and Keramat Ali—were anchored in the middle of the river due to the suspension of services, causing sufferings to passengers amid cold.

As the ferry services resumed, vehicles carrying passengers were allowed to cross the river first.
