The Department of Meteorology has issued a 72-hour weather forecast, indicating hot and sunny weather for Sunday and Monday, followed by the possibility of heavy rain in three divisions starting Tuesday.

According to the forecast, a western low-pressure extension is positioned over West Bengal and neighboring areas, while seasonal normal low-pressure persists over the South Bay of Bengal. Over the next 24 hours, the weather is expected to remain predominantly dry with partly cloudy skies.

Currently, mild to moderate heat waves prevail over several divisions, including Nilphamari, Netrakona, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet, with temperatures likely to remain stable during the day and slightly increase at night.

Looking ahead to Monday, the Meteorological Department anticipates dry weather across the country with temporary partly cloudy conditions. The prevailing heatwave is expected to persist, with temperatures rising marginally both during the day and at night.

However, Tuesday's forecast brings a shift, with the possibility of rain and thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions at two locations. Additionally, scattered rainfall and hailstorms may occur in some areas. The rest of the country is expected to experience mainly dry weather with partly cloudy skies.
