In the latest weather report, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a warning about a widespread heatwave engulfing various parts of the country, including Rajshahi.
Mild to moderate heat waves, with temperatures ranging from 36 to 39.9 degrees Celsius, are currently affecting 64 districts. This weather pattern is expected to persist for the next 72 hours, causing discomfort due to increased water vapor in the air.
The affected regions, including Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, are experiencing these heat waves, which are forecasted to continue. However, there may be some relief in the northern and northeastern parts of the country tomorrow.
Yesterday, Dinajpur recorded the highest temperature at 39.0 degrees Celsius, followed by 38.7 degrees Celsius in Rangamati, and 38.5 degrees Celsius in Syedpur and Ishwardi. Rajshahi and Rajarhat experienced temperatures of 38.0 degrees Celsius. According to meteorological experts, these heatwave conditions are likely to persist, with some regions experiencing slightly cooler temperatures tomorrow.
