Dhaka, Oct 25 (V7N) – Five additional prosecutors have been appointed to the International Criminal Tribunal of Bangladesh, as per a notification issued late Thursday night by Deputy Solicitor Sana Md. Mahroof Hossain from the Solicitor's Office under the Ministry of Law.

The appointment of these prosecutors was made under Section 7 (1) of the International Criminal Tribunal Act, 1973. The new appointees include Supreme Court lawyers SM Moinul Karim and Md. Noor Ershad Siddiqui, who will hold the rank of Deputy Attorney General. Additionally, Shaikh Mahdi, Tarek Abdullah, and digital forensic expert Tanveer Hasan Joha will be accorded the privileges of Assistant Attorney General.

This development follows the recent appointment of Mohammad Tajul Islam as the Chief Prosecutor of the tribunal, along with four other prosecutors. The new appointees are expected to strengthen the prosecutorial team in handling high-profile cases at the tribunal.
