Dhaka, Feb 24 (V7N)- Chief Prosecutor Aminul Islam has said that allegations of bribery involving members of the prosecution team of the International Crimes Tribunal will be investigated.

The allegations claim that bribes were offered to make former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun a witness in the crimes against humanity case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Strict Action if Irregularities Found

Speaking at a briefing at his tribunal office on Tuesday (February 24), Aminul Islam said strict action would be taken if any prosecutor is found involved in irregularities.

He also noted that investigations into the July murder cases will be reviewed, and legal action will be taken if any errors or negligence are identified, subject to legal provisions.

Meeting with Prosecution Team

Earlier in the day, the newly appointed Chief Prosecutor held a meeting with all members of the prosecution team to discuss the overall situation of the tribunal, including progress in the July movement-related cases, and issued necessary directives.
