Feni June 8, (V7N)- Two watchmen were allegedly held hostage at gunpoint and looted 13 cows at a farm in Feni. In this incident there is concern among more than 5 thousand farmers of the district. 13 Shahiwal cows worth Tk 25 lakh were looted by entering the farm at Rajapur Purva Jai Narayanpur Khan Agro Farm in Daganbhuyan Upazila of Feni on Saturday (June 8) late night.
Laborer Abdur Rahman said that he gave food to the cows and went to sleep around three o'clock in the night. 20/25 masked armed miscreants broke the lock of the farm gate and entered and tied them hostage. Later took 21 cows.
According to the workers, the car was parked some distance from the farm. Maybe eight cows move in different directions while being loaded onto the cart. Early in the morning, eight cows were rescued from different places in the area with the help of locals.
Farm owner Add. Daud Khan said that he started the farm in 2019. This time, 21 cows of Shahiwal breed were bought three months ago and were being prepared for sale on Eid. Two laborers stayed at night to look after and guard the farm. After Fajr prayer on Saturday, he went out for a walk and saw three cows standing in front of the mosque. When in doubt, he quickly went to the farm and found that there was no cow in his farm and two workers were tied hands, feet and face. Later called 999 and reported the matter to the police.
Daud Khan, the owner of the farm, said that the miscreants also beat up the farm workers. The looted cows are of high quality Shahiwal breed. Each cow weighs more than 6 maunds. Each has a market value of more than two lakhs.
There is concern among more than 5,000 farmers in the district about this kind of looting. Farmers said that such incidents could have been prevented if the police patrols in the area were stronger. If the police want, it is possible to recover the looted cows.
