Khulna, Nov 03 (V7N)- People's lives are suffering due to the torture of mosquitoes.  Their torture goes on day and night.  There is no way to open the windows and doors of the house.  Even using mosquito coils, sprays and electric bats is not getting any benefit.  City leaders feel that no program of the city corporation is working to kill mosquitoes.
 
 It has been seen on the ground that in most areas of Khulna, drain and road renovation work is going on.  During this work, the workers have to work by keeping the mouth of the drain.  Dirty water accumulates there.  Mosquitoes are born from stagnant dirty water.
 
 After visiting different areas of Khulna, it was seen that polythene, paper and various kinds of garbage have accumulated in the drains.  The residents of the area told this reporter that there is indifference on the part of the officials of the City Corporation in cleaning them.
 
 Mintu Sheikh, a resident of Haji Muhasin area of ​​the city, said that most of the house members in this area are suffering from dengue fever.  His elder brother's son is admitted in Khulna City Medical College Hospital due to mosquito-borne disease.  He said in a tone of complaint, the authorities sprinkled drugs outside the house with the fogger machine.  But mosquitoes don't die.  They fly into the house.
 
Imon Hasan, a resident of Shamsur Rahman area, said that there has been a lot of mosquito infestation for the past few days.  Their torture goes on day and night.  The windows and doors of the house cannot be opened properly.  Mosquitoes enter the house when the window is opened.  Torture begins.  Sometimes medicine is sprinkled by the city corporation.  But it doesn't work.
 
 Civic leader Babul Howladar Khulna said.  Mosquitoes are born from the water here.  He also said that KCC holds meetings occasionally to prevent dengue.  Their activities are limited to meetings.  In reality they do nothing.  He felt that there is a need to spray standard mosquito repellents. Regular drain cleaning and sewage management reforms are needed.
 
 Abdul Aziz, Head of Sewage Management of the City Corporation, said that the larvae accumulate when the water accumulates.  Mosquitoes are born from here.  He said black oil is used in drains to destroy larvae.  Moreover, hearing the sound of the fogger machine, many mosquitoes run away.  Mosquitoes that get washed die.  And for flying mosquitoes Cypher Methril 10 EC is used.
 
 He also said that he joined as head of waste management on 30th of last month.  He did not know what measures he had taken to kill the mosquitoes who were here before.  But he blamed climate change for the increase in mosquito infestation.  After assuming charge, he undertook various crush programs.  He urged the city dwellers to be aware to avoid mosquito infestation.  He urged to regularly clean the jungle and drains around the house.
