Tehran, June 28 (V7N) — Retired Supreme Court judge Ali Asghar Mojtahidzadeh has claimed that the ceasefire ending the 12-day war between Iran and Israel was not the result of any agreement with Iran, but was unilaterally imposed by Iran’s enemies out of fear.
In an interview with Rasa News published on Saturday, Mojtahidzadeh said, “Iran did not seek peace or make any agreement. It was the enemy who attacked, was hit in response, and then forced to unilaterally declare a ceasefire after suffering losses.”
He emphasized that Tehran’s official statements did not mention any formal ceasefire agreement. Mojtahidzadeh, who also served as the head of the special religious court in Qom, asserted, “Iran is always alert and armed.”
Meanwhile, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei praised the Iranian people’s unity in the face of foreign aggression. “This sent a message that the voice of our people is one,” he said, dismissing calls by US President Donald Trump for Iran to surrender. Khamenei described such remarks as exaggerated and reflective of Washington’s desperation.
On the diplomatic front, President Trump announced that US-Iran talks, suspended during the Iran-Israel conflict, are expected to resume next week.
