Khulna, Nov 10 (V7N)- Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament, has accused former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of attempting to destabilize the nation through alleged conspiracies, despite her departure from the country. Speaking at an exchange of views with journalists at the Humayun Kabir Balu Auditorium of the Khulna Press Club on Sunday morning, Parwar urged the public to unite in resisting these perceived threats.

He expressed concerns over what he termed as a “counter-revolution” by Sheikh Hasina to regain power following the August political changes. He stated that Jamaat-e-Islami, along with other groups, intends to address this through a national consensus, emphasizing the "spirit of August 5" as a guiding principle.

Regarding the upcoming election, Parwar noted the formation of a search committee for the Election Commission, but he highlighted the need for substantial reforms in several state areas—including the judiciary, administration, and constitution—before a truly free and fair election can be realized.

Parwar also criticized recent events surrounding Noor Hussain Day, accusing the ruling Awami League and its supporters of using audio and video propaganda to provoke unrest. He claimed that these efforts were thwarted by students and the administration, and alleged that there are ongoing efforts to portray minorities as unsafe in Bangladesh, a narrative he attributed to both domestic and international actors.

He further denied accusations suggesting Jamaat-e-Islami's role in creating instability during religious celebrations and emphasized that the public would not accept a return to “fascist power” driven by fear and unrest.
