TEKNAF, July 28 (V7N) – Former Union Parishad member and journalist Jamal Uddin was allegedly abducted at gunpoint and assaulted in Hnila Union of Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar, leaving him seriously injured.
According to local sources, a group of unidentified assailants allegedly picked him up at gunpoint from in front of Hnila Al-Falah Academy on Monday night and took him to the area in front of Moinuddin Memorial College, where he was physically assaulted.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 9:00 pm on Monday (July 27). Later, local people rescued Jamal Uddin in a critical condition and admitted him to a hospital for treatment.
The incident has created concern and fear among residents in the area. Local people have demanded the immediate identification and arrest of those involved and called for exemplary punishment under the law.
