Jhalokathi, Sept 28 (V7N) – World Tourism Day was observed in Jhalokathi on Sunday with a rally, discussion and other programmes organised by the district administration.
A rally led by Deputy Commissioner Md Momin Uddin was brought out from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in the morning. It passed through different streets of the town, with members of the District Tourism Development Committee and representatives from various professions taking part.
Later, a discussion and other programmes were held at Chhaila Char, one of the district’s notable tourist attractions.
Speakers at the discussion stressed the need to develop the tourism sector by properly utilising Jhalokathi’s tourism potential.
Deputy Commissioner Momin Uddin said Dhanesindri Eco Park would be developed as an attractive tourist destination featuring a cultural village.
The initiative aims to attract domestic and foreign tourists while further promoting Jhalokathi’s tourism potential, he said.
Officials of the district administration, members of the District Tourism Development Committee and representatives from different professions attended the programmes.
