Jhalokathi, Oct 15 (V7N) – Barishal Range Deputy Inspector General of Police Md Julfikar Ali Haider visited Rajapur Central Harimandir in Jhalokathi on Wednesday to inspect preparations and security arrangements for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.
During the visit, he discussed festival preparations and security measures with temple committee leaders and law enforcement personnel.
“Police will ensure maximum security so that Durga Puja can be celebrated peacefully while maintaining communal harmony. No untoward incident will be allowed,” he said.
Jhalokathi Superintendent of Police Merin Sultana, Assistant Superintendent of Police Shah Alam, Rajapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sujan Biswas, Rajapur Upazila Swechchhasebak Dal President Ratan Debnath, Upazila Puja Celebration Council General Secretary Gopal Karmakar, Harisabha Temple President Pran Ballav Saha and local Puja committee leaders were present during the inspection.
Temple committee leaders said the administration was providing all necessary assistance to ensure that Durga Puja was celebrated smoothly and peacefully this year.
