Pirojpur, June 30 (V7N)- Due to the lack of artificial regulation of the canal, the natural ebb and flow of tides continue unchecked, leaving nearly four hundred families in West Mithakhali village of wards 4 and 5 in Betmore Rajpara Union, Mathbaria, Pirojpur, submerged for an extended period. Their household activities have come to a halt, and despair has risen as they struggle to survive.

A visit to the area reveals a shocking reality. The helplessness and plight of the local people weigh heavily on the atmosphere. Many, with voices choked with tears, lament their suffering. Everything floats in the tidal water. Nearly three hundred families have had to cease all economic activities.

The struggle for survival has been exacerbated by a lack of clean drinking water and essential supplies. Low-income families face increasing difficulties due to the scarcity of raw materials, preventing any agricultural activities centered around their homes.

Tidal waters inundate houses, courtyards, gardens, barns, vegetable fields, kitchens, poultry houses, ponds, fish enclosures, mosques, and temples. Everything is submerged, and people are confined indoors. The ordeal of women, children, and the elderly during this water disaster is overwhelming. Each day brings anxiety about securing food and uncertainty and fear hang over the village.
