Tangail, Aug 02 (V7N) - Students demanding quota reform in government jobs have obstructed the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway in response to recent attacks and killings of their peers.

On Friday (August 2) around 5:15 PM, they commenced their demonstration at the Ashokpur Bypass area in Tangail city, causing traffic disruptions in both directions towards northern Bengal and Dhaka, resulting in a 17-kilometer traffic jam.

Earlier, following Juma prayers, a march initiated from Hilipet in the town, traversed various city roads, and concluded with a rally at the Press Club.

The students vowed to persist with their protests until their nine demands are addressed. The city remains tense, with police, RAB, BGB, and DB personnel deployed throughout the area.
