Los Angeles, July 4 (V7N) – Michael Madsen, the veteran American actor celebrated for his gritty, tough-guy roles and a long-running collaboration with filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, has died at the age of 67. His death was confirmed Thursday, July 3, by his manager Ron Smith, who stated that Madsen passed away following a cardiac arrest.

With a film and television career spanning over four decades, Madsen amassed more than 300 screen credits, establishing himself as one of Hollywood’s most recognizable character actors. He gained international acclaim for his portrayal of Mr. Blonde in Tarantino’s 1992 cult classic Reservoir Dogs—a role that remains among his most iconic.

Madsen's collaboration with Tarantino continued across several major projects, including Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019). Known for his brooding screen presence, gravelly voice, and ability to portray morally complex characters, Madsen built a career that bridged independent cinema and mainstream success.

Beyond his work with Tarantino, Madsen appeared in films such as Thelma & Louise, Donnie Brasco, and Sin City, and had numerous roles in television series and voiceover projects. Off-screen, he was also a published poet and photographer, admired for his creative pursuits outside of acting.

Colleagues and fans alike have taken to social media to mourn his passing, with tributes highlighting his contributions to cinema and his influence on a generation of actors.
