Teknaf, Sep 17 (V7N): Activities at the Teknaf land port in Cox's Bazar have been suspended after bullets from conflict-ridden Myanmar landed within the port's vicinity.

Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer Adnan Chowdhury confirmed the halt in operations, attributing it to the firing from across the border.

Jasim Uddin, manager of the land port, reported that three bullets hit the port area around 1:30 PM. One bullet struck the port office, shattering its glass, while another hit a truck transporting goods, and a third impacted a coconut tree. The unexpected gunfire caused widespread panic, prompting people to seek safety.

According to local sources, the bullets are originating from an island in Myanmar where two groups are currently engaged in conflict, resulting in stray shots reaching Bangladesh’s border areas.
