Dhaka, August 1— The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have been postponed until August 10 in response to the ongoing unrest surrounding the quota reform movement. The exams will now commence under a new schedule from August 11, according to Dhaka Education Board Chairman Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar.
Professor Sarkar announced the suspension of all HSC and equivalent exams scheduled for the immediate future. "A new routine will be issued, and exams will proceed accordingly from August 11," he informed the media on Thursday.
The decision follows multiple suspensions of the ongoing exams due to the violence and instability linked to the quota reform protests across the country. The exams scheduled for July 25, 28, 29, 31, and August 1 had already been postponed. The first postponement occurred on July 18, with subsequent postponements affecting the exams scheduled for July 21, 23, and 25.
The Education Board has expressed its commitment to ensuring the safety of students and maintaining the integrity of the examination process amidst the challenging circumstances.
