Mumbai, 10 July- Bollywood producer and director Karan Johar, who became a father through surrogacy in 2017, has candidly shared his experiences of raising his two children, Yash and Ruhi Johar. The children, who are being raised near their grandmother, have started asking difficult questions about their mother, putting Karan in a challenging position.

In a recent interview on Indian journalist Faye D'Souza's YouTube channel, Karan Johar discussed the unique dynamics of his modern family. He revealed, "Our family can be called a modern family, which is very normal in all families, but not in my family. So questions and situations are also not common. My children Yash and Ruhi ask me, 'Whose womb are we born?' 'Why do we call grandmother mother?' 'Where is our mother?' These questions are very difficult to answer. I am taking the help of their school counsellor."

Karan also touched upon an incident involving his son Yash and his love for sweets. He shared a moment of regret, admitting to fat-shaming his son without realizing the impact it could have. "Yash loves to eat sugar. Eating too much sugar will make me fat. Forgot that, little kid. Thinking about that incident still makes me feel ashamed," Karan said.

The Bollywood mogul's openness about his parenting journey highlights the complexities of modern family dynamics and the challenges of addressing children's innocent but tough questions. His admission of guilt over the fat-shaming incident also underscores the importance of mindful parenting and the impact of words on young minds.
