Dhaka, Sep 09 (V7N)- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed law enforcement agencies to take stricter measures to curb the unregulated use of polythene and plastic in the country.
She issued the directive during a review meeting on environmental pollution control held at the Secretariat on Wednesday (September 9) morning.
The Prime Minister also instructed the relevant ministries, departments and agencies to properly carry out their respective responsibilities to prevent environmental pollution.
The meeting reviewed the progress of various government initiatives aimed at controlling pollution and discussed future measures.
Among the issues discussed were promoting the use of environmentally friendly block bricks, improving waste management and controlling air, water, soil and noise pollution.
The Prime Minister emphasized stronger enforcement and effective coordination among the concerned authorities to ensure better environmental protection.
