Manikganj, Oct 20 (V7N) – Food Minister Afroza Khanam today visited 12 Durga Puja mandaps in Manikganj Sadar upazila and exchanged Sharadiya greetings with Hindu community members.
The minister also provided financial grants to each Puja mandap and temple and assured them that local problems and demands would be addressed gradually.
During her visits to the Puja mandaps, the minister inspected the arrangements for the festival and overall security measures and expressed satisfaction. The minister also called on everyone to maintain communal harmony and urged collective efforts for accelerating the development of the area.
At the time, she also highlighted various initiatives taken by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for the welfare of the Hindu community. Local BNP leaders and activists and leaders of the Sanatan community were present.
