Following Section 126 of the constitution's "In Aid to the Civil Power," the armed forces are being sent in to support the local civil administration in conducting a free, fair, and civil election.
An army patrol was observed in the Banani region of Dhaka early in the morning.

The area-base deployment has been finished at the returning officers' request and via cooperation with all parties involved, the ISPR stated.
The Bangladesh Army has been assigned to 62 districts, while 45 upazilas will be under the sole command of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)
Additionally, the army will be sent to 47 bordering upazilas and 4 coastal upazilas in collaboration with the BGB and Coast Guard, respectively.
The Bangladesh Navy personnel would continue to be stationed in the districts of Bhola and Barguna as well as in 19 other coastal upazilas.
Helicopter support for voting places in the isolated, hilly regions will be provided by the Bangladesh Air Forces (BAF).

Additionally, enough BAF helicopters have been maintained in reserve to assist with elections.
The armed forces division has established a cell that will be operational until January 10 in collaboration with other ministries, divisions, and law enforcement agency personnel.
