DHAKA, April 15, (V7N) – Commerce Adviser SK Bashir Uddin on Monday expressed optimism that rice prices—especially for finer varieties like nazirshail and miniket—will decrease within the next two weeks as the boro harvest reaches markets.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting at the Secretariat on the supply and import of edible oil and other essentials, he highlighted favorable weather, stable electricity, and adequate fertilizer as positive factors for agricultural production.
“We are expecting a good boro harvest, which should help make rice prices more affordable,” he said.
Emphasizing the dynamic nature of agricultural products, the adviser assured that the government is actively monitoring essential commodity markets and taking necessary steps to stabilize prices.
