Tangail, Apr 14 (V7N) – Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) welcomed Bangla New Year 1432 with vibrant celebrations and a series of cultural and festive programs on Monday.
The day began with a joyous New Year procession at 10:30 AM, led by the university's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Azim Akhand. Starting from the administrative building, the procession circled the campus and concluded at the university’s open stage. Participants included faculty deans, librarians, proctors, directors of the Student Welfare and Counseling Center, registrars, hall provosts, department heads, faculty members, students, officers, and staff.
A wide array of programs added to the festive spirit. The MBSTU Sahitya Sangsad organized a New Year Book Fair at the open stage. The Rotaract Club of Mawlana Bhashani hosted engaging sports activities and a food stall. Dhrubatara arranged a traditional Panta-Ilish feast followed by a lively cultural program. Additionally, a speech competition was jointly organized by the MBSTU Debating Society and the MBSTU Career Club.
Addressing the attendees, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Azim Akhand said, “On the occasion of the first Baishakh of Bengal 1432, I extend my heartfelt New Year greetings to all students, esteemed teachers, officials, staff, and everyone associated with the university. The New Year brings new dreams and new aspirations. May we all work together to fulfill these dreams and make our lives more prosperous and beautiful.”
