In a pre-dawn raid today, Dhaka’s Detective Branch (DB) police, with assistance from Netrakona district police, apprehended the suspects from the China Mor area of Durgapur municipality.

Superintendent of Police in Netrakona, Mirza Sayem Mahmud, confirmed the arrests to Voice7News, saying, “The Dhaka DB team launched a coordinated operation with our support early this morning. Based on intelligence, we successfully located and arrested the accused from Durgapur. They have now been taken back to Dhaka.”

The shocking murder took place on Wednesday, right outside Sir Salimullah Medical College (Mitford) Hospital. He was beaten with bricks and stones, his head and body crushed, and at one point stripped and stomped on.

“This was a horrific and barbaric act. We are committed to bringing all those involved to justice,” SP Mahmud added.

The arrest of the two suspects marks a major development in the high-profile case, which has sparked nationwide outrage. Law enforcement agencies are continuing their hunt for the remaining accused.
