DHAKA, Aug 9 (V7N)– Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain today highlighted the universal importance of humanitarian service, stating that it is a "very noble act" that is prioritized in all major religions. He made these remarks as the chief guest at a cheque distribution ceremony for the maintenance of helpless and orphaned students, organized by the Al Manahil Welfare Foundation Bangladesh at its office in Baridhara.
Khalid Hossain emphasized that across Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity, there is a shared message of donation, help, and compassion. He described human service as a "sacred duty" that cultivates morality, patience, and self-sacrifice, helping people to become "human in the true sense." He also noted that humanitarian work strengthens social bonds and fosters a sense of unity and brotherhood, which contributes to social stability.
The adviser commended the Al Manahil Welfare Foundation for its long history of humanitarian work, which includes caring for the helpless and orphans, establishing religious institutions, providing drinking water, and building homes for the homeless. He expressed hope that the organization would continue its mission in the future.
During the event, Khalid Hossain handed over a cheque for TK 3,70,28,000 to representatives of 81 madrasas and orphanages across the country. This financial assistance was provided by the UK-based voluntary organization Imdadul Muslimeen.
The ceremony was chaired by the Foundation's Chairman, Helal Uddin bin Zamir Uddin, with NGO Affairs Bureau Director Md. Anwar Hossain as a special guest. Other notable attendees included Islamic Foundation Board of Governors Governor and Befaqul Madarisil Arabia (BEFAQ) Secretary General Mahfuzul Haque, and a representative from Saudi Arabia's international Islamic non-governmental organization, Rabeta Al Alam Al Islami.
Earlier in the day, the Religious Affairs Adviser also spoke as the chief guest at a national conference organized by the Shane Sahaba National Khatib Foundation.
