Dhaka, Dec 15 (V7N) — A complaint has been filed against journalist Anis Alamgir and four others under the Anti-Terrorism Act, though the matter has not yet been formally registered as a case. The other accused are actress Meher Afroz Shawon, model Maria Kishpat, and Imtu Ratish Imtiaz.

The complaint was submitted early Sunday (December 14) at around 2:30 am by Aryan Ahmed, central organizer of the July Revolutionary Alliance, at the Uttara West Police Station in the capital.

Confirming the receipt of the complaint on Monday around 12:30 pm, Officer-in-Charge Kazi Mohammad Rafiq Ahmed said that the allegations are mainly cyber-related and involve propaganda against the state. “The matter will be verified, and further steps will be taken after consultation with senior officials. For now, it has not been registered as a case,” he added.

Earlier, journalist Anis Alamgir was taken to the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police office from a gym in the Dhanmondi area at around 7:30 pm on Sunday, where he remains as of the latest reports.
