Dhamarai, Dec 20, (V7N) - Yasin Ferdous Murad, the President of Dhaka District Jubo Dal, has demanded the arrest and trial of former Chief Justice Khairul Haque for creating instability in the country by abolishing the caretaker government system.
Murad made this statement at a rally organized by the Balia, Amta, and Chauhat Union BNP and its allied organizations in Dhamarai on Friday. The rally, held at the Balia Bus Stand, aimed to implement the 31-point agenda announced by BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
In his address, Murad stated that Khairul Haque had illegally abolished the caretaker government system and introduced a party-based government, a decision he believes was at the root of the unrest in Bangladesh. He further emphasized that the recent High Court ruling for the restoration of the caretaker government system was a victory for BNP. "We have been campaigning for the reinstatement of the system for over a decade, and thousands of our leaders and workers have sacrificed their lives in this struggle," he added.
Murad also highlighted the growing threat to Bangladesh's sovereignty due to Indian aggression, accusing the Awami League government of adopting a submissive foreign policy towards India. He asserted that India now treats Bangladesh as a subordinate due to the fascist foreign policies of the current government. Murad praised the leadership of Tarique Rahman for responding to India’s aggression effectively.
The rally, which saw speeches from several local leaders including former Senior Vice President of Dhamarai Upazila BNP, Asifur Rahman Milan, and other prominent figures such as Delwar Hossain, MA Jalil, Ansar Ali, Khondokar Ayub, Khondokar Abu Taher Mukut, Sabina Yasmin, and Lokman Dewan, emphasized the need for continued struggle for the rights and sovereignty of Bangladesh.
