This morning, in the Chandgaon region of Chattogram city, a fight broke out between police and BNP activists as the opposition party's officials and workers attempted to prevent voters from casting their ballots.

An hour after the 12th parliamentary election voting started, the altercation started at around nine in the morning.

Still, no early reports of casualties surfaced.

BNP leaders and activists, according to Officer-in-Charge of the Chandgaon Police Station Jahidul Kabir, prevented electors from casting ballots in the Chandgaon area.


Police raced to the scene on information and began pursuing them. Then BNP activists and leaders started throwing brickbats at the police.

According to OC Jahidul, law enforcement personnel are presently striving to uphold law and order in the region.
