Dhaka, July 24 (V7N) – Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has sharply criticized the current administration led by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, calling it “illegal” and claiming that it is trying to harass him using the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

In a strongly worded post from his verified Facebook page on Thursday (July 24), Joy said, “This illegal government is now trying to divert the public's attention by using the Anti-Corruption Commission to file false allegations against me. But they will not be able to do anything about it.”

Addressing accusations about owning two properties in the United States, Joy clarified: “I do not own two houses in Virginia—one is mine, which I bought in 2018, not last year. After my divorce was finalized last year, ownership was transferred solely to me. The other house being discussed is my previous residence, which I sold to buy this one.” He added that the value of the house had appreciated by about $1.5 million (around Tk 18 crore) since purchase.

Joy emphasized that he is not a government employee but an IT entrepreneur with legal income and that he pays taxes in the United States. He also noted that the FBI previously investigated him and found no wrongdoing.

Referring to the revocation of his Bangladeshi passport by the current administration, he said, “That is why I quickly obtained US citizenship.”

He warned those trying to expose his private information: “If the ACC wants to seize my property, I invite them to come and try. My lawyers are ready to file a case against Momen, who is in the US, for exposing my address.”

Joy accused the government of trying to create insecurity by publicly revealing his address. “But this is America—where owning a weapon is legal and there's no limit to ammunition. I am not afraid. I’m fully prepared and able to defend myself.”

He concluded with a final remark: “My house number is not 32. And this illegal government led by Yunus will not be able to do anything to me.”
