Sirajul Haque, the father of the law minister, was a well-known lawyer in the subcontinent who served in the Constituent Assembly and the committee that drafted the constitution.

In Sunday's 12th national election, Law Minister Anisul Huq won the Brahmanbaria-4 seat for a record three times in a row.

Anisul received 2,20,667 votes, while Shaheen Khan of the National People's Party, his closest opponent, received 6,586 votes.

Using the emblem of a "boat," Annisul Huq was also elected as a member of the Jatiya Sangsad in the elections of 2014 and 2018.

The constituency had a 58.13 percent voter turnout.

The constituency has one hundred and eighty-one voting places. Of them, 44 are located in Akhaura upazila and 74 are located in Kasba upazila.
