Dhaka, Jan 11 (V7N) — Leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh and the Islami Oikya Front met BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on Saturday evening at the BNP chairman’s political office in Gulshan, Dhaka. BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed was also present during the meetings.

Representing Jamiat, attendees included party President Maulana Ubaydullah Faruq, Secretary General Maulana Manzurul Islam Afendi, Senior Naib-e-Amir Maulana Abdur Rob Yousufi, Maulana Junaid Al Habib, and Maulana Monir Hossain Qasemi, among other leaders.

Ahead of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections, BNP has allocated four seats to Jamiat based on mutual understanding. Accordingly, Maulana Ubaydullah Faruq is contesting from Sylhet-5, Maulana Junaid Al Habib from Brahmanbaria-2, Maulana Manzurul Islam Afendi from Nilphamari-1, and central leader Mufti Monir Hossain Qasemi from Narayanganj-4.

During the meeting, Jamiat leaders pledged to cooperate with BNP across the country, working together based on seat-sharing agreements.

Separately, representatives of the Islami Oikya Front, including Chairman Maulana Abdul Kader, Senior Chairman Maulana Zubayer Ahmed, Secretary General Mufti Sakawat Hossain Razi, Joint Secretary General Mufti Shamsul Alam, Organizational Secretary Mufti Majir Mujib, Executive Member Maulana Abu Sayem Khaled, Maulana Zabuya Bin Muhsin, and Maulana Alem Al Hossain, also met with Tarique Rahman.

The Islami Oikya Front leaders assured that they would collaborate with BNP before, during, and after the elections for the welfare of the nation and its people, maintaining unity and coordination with the party.
