Dhaka, Feb 04 (V7N) — NCP Convener and Dhaka-11 constituency candidate Nahid Islam on Wednesday alleged that foreign forces, including India, are attempting to interfere in the 13th National Parliament elections.
He made the remarks while participating in an election campaign in Rampura area of the capital.
Nahid Islam claimed that there are efforts to cooperate in rigging the upcoming election, alleging that foreign actors are making direct comments in favor of the BNP. “Foreigners are interfering in our elections,” he said.
He also accused his rival BNP candidate MA Qayyum of trying to conceal allegations of dual citizenship by distributing money in various places. According to Nahid Islam, allowing loan defaulters and dual citizens to contest elections has severely damaged the overall election environment.
Meanwhile, Barrister Arman, the 11-party alliance candidate using the ‘scales’ symbol in Dhaka-14 constituency, held a mass meeting in the Mirpur area on the same day.
Addressing the gathering, Barrister Arman said that people are frustrated by corruption, exploitation, and extortion. “If we come to power, we will build a safe and just society,” he said.
