Dhaka, Feb 05 (V7N) — Tasnim Jara, an independent candidate for the Dhaka-9 constituency, has said that public documentation and exposure of injustice will be her primary method to counter the influence of political “big brothers” or powerful leaders, even as an independent lawmaker.

She made the remarks in a Facebook post on Thursday (February 5), responding to questions about how an independent candidate could resist entrenched political power structures after being elected.

Tasnim Jara stated that standing against injustice does not always require muscle power, but rather the ability to increase the political cost of wrongdoing. According to her, individuals who rely on influence and intimidation are often most afraid of public exposure.

“When incidents of injustice are properly documented and brought before the public, political parties themselves are compelled to restrain their own workers,” she said.

She further explained that she has two key tools for this approach. First, her institutional education and professional experience enable her to collect and present evidence accurately. Second, she has access to a powerful digital platform that allows her to communicate the truth instantly to millions of people without relying on traditional media.

Tasnim Jara emphasized that her goal is to turn injustice into a public record, adding that while muscle power may create temporary dominance, no political party can ignore sustained social pressure created through information and public opinion.

“Even the most ruthless dictators in the world could not ignore that pressure,” she added.
