Dhaka, Feb 05 (V7N) — The election campaign for the 13th National Parliament election will officially end at 7:30 am on Tuesday, February 10, according to the announced schedule. Ahead of the polling, it has also been announced that the Chief Adviser will address the nation on BTV on Monday, marking the parliamentary elections and referendum.
Meanwhile, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday said that the party’s final election rally will be held on February 8 in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan.
He made the announcement after a meeting at the BNP central office.
Rizvi said that BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will attend the rally as the chief guest, while BNP candidates from Dhaka district and surrounding constituencies will also be present.
Expressing optimism about the polls, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the BNP expects voters to be able to cast their ballots freely for their preferred candidates in this election.
Commenting on rival party Jamaat-e-Islami, the senior BNP leader used a proverb to criticize its activities, saying that what the party is doing now is akin to “covering fish with vegetables,” implying attempts to conceal reality through various means.
“You can’t cover a fish with vegetables. Everything we are seeing now is an effort to hide one thing by doing another,” he said.
Rizvi also announced that the BNP election manifesto will be unveiled on Friday at 3 pm at a hotel in the capital.
