Dhaka, Feb 08 (V7N)- Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election, ballots and election equipment are being delivered from the Election Commission (EC) to districts across the country. Distribution has already started in Comilla, Habiganj, and Rangamati, while preparations continue in other districts.

Election officials began transporting ballot papers and election materials from the offices of the District Returning Officers to the Assistant Returning Officers of the Upazilas from Sunday (February 8) noon. In Comilla, ballots and equipment are being sent to each upazila of the district’s 11 constituencies.

Additional security measures have been put in place for the vehicles carrying these materials. Separate ballot papers are being sent for the referendum along with general ballots. Election rules, display materials, festoons, and voting equipment for each center are also being delivered simultaneously.

Sheikh Md. Habibur Rahman, Senior Election Officer of Comilla district, said that ballot papers are being distributed for more than 48 lakh 50 thousand voters in the district.

In Habiganj, these materials have been sent from the offices of the District Returning Officer and the Deputy Commissioner to the Assistant Returning Officer and Upazila Nirbahi Officer of various upazilas since Sunday morning. Ahead of the election on February 12, these materials will reach 647 polling stations in the district’s four constituencies through the respective Assistant Returning Officers.

Meanwhile, in Rangamati, election equipment, ballot boxes, law enforcement personnel, and other officials began arriving yesterday at 20 remote polling stations in four upazilas via Bangladesh Air Force helicopters to ensure smooth preparations.
