Dhaka, Feb 11 (V7N) — Returning Officer and Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury has said that 1,400 polling stations in 13 constituencies of the capital have been identified as risky.

He made the disclosure at a press conference held in Segunbagicha in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.

The returning officer said CCTV cameras have been installed at each of these risky polling stations. Besides, most of the other polling centers will also be brought under CCTV surveillance. He added that special security measures have been taken at the risky centers and the government is fully prepared to control any kind of untoward situation.

He further said that CCTV facilities have also been installed at all vote counting centers. In addition, arrangements have been made for lighting in case of power outages.

It is worth mentioning that the 13th National Parliament Election and referendum will be held on February 12. Across the country, there are a total of 42,779 polling stations, of which 21,506 have been identified as risky by law enforcement agencies for various reasons.
